This dovetail strop is made from 2-3 oz kangaroo leather which is thin, firm, and smooth. A firm leather increases the likelihood that you will maintain a flat and consistent bevel. The 15* dovetail works great to hold the strop or clamp it in a vice.

The leather is mounted with suede side up on a black walnut backer board.

The cherry base on this one has a small knot at the bottom edge.

The two pieces are glued and screwed together.

No compound has been applied to this strop but let me know if you are interested in a first application.

Included with each strop purchase is a leather bib which is made from 6oz veg tanned (cow) leather and a custom mailing box.
